June 29 to July 5 – Diversity Week

The Glooscap Heritage Centre will be participating in Truro’s celebration of Diversity Week by doing storytelling sessions of Glooscap Legends throughout the week.

July 3 to August 31 – Kid’s Day

The Glooscap Heritage Centre will be hosting a "Kid’s Day" every Thursday from 1:30-3pm throughout July and August. Kids aged 8 and up are welcome to learn about traditions practiced by the Mi’kmaq. Sessions are $5.00 each/per child and pre-registration is required. Contact: Jody or Crystal at 843-3496

August 22 – Luskingan and Blueberries

In celebration of the Wild Blueberry Harvest Festival, the Glooscap Heritage Cente will be sharing the history of the how important blueberries have been in Nova Scotia for many years. Come and sample traditional Mi’kmaq Bread with a twist... Luskingan and Blueberries



Girl Guides and Scouts...Girl Guides and Scouts

Visit the Glooscap Heritage Centre and learn about the Mi'kmaq. Program and tour meets criteria for Cultural/Aboriginal Awareness Badges. Tour will be lead by a Heritage Interpreter. Guides will learn about the Mi'kmaq culture, stories and celebrations. Cub Scouts will learn about inventions, the way of life and how the Mi'kmaq survived off the land.

When: Monday to Thursday evenings
Location: 65 Treaty Trail, Truro, Nova Scotia
Cost: $3.00 per child (one leader for every five children admitted free)
